Gram flour ladoo


Pour ½ cup sugar to a grinder jar. Add 3 to 4 whole green cardamoms.

Grind to a fine powder. Set aside.

Pour 1½ tablespoons ghee to a heavy bottom pan and heat it. Fry 2 spoons of cashews until golden and remove to a plate.

Reduce the heat to low. Add 1 cup besan (Gram flour)

Roast the besan on a medium low heat, stirring continuously.

Roast for 5 to 7 mins until slightly aromatic.

Reduce the heat to lowest, Pour 2.5 tbsps ghee.

Do not stop stirring. Keep stirring to incorporate the ghee well & continue to roast the besan on the lowest flame.

As you fry the mixture will turn to a mass.

Soon the besan turns deep golden color.

As soon as it smells aromatic, remove the pan immediately from the heat/stove.

Stir for another 2 to 3 minutes since the besan continues to cook in the hot ghee.

Cool down completely. Add cashews.

Add powdered sugar.

Mix well and Knead the ingredients with your hand.

The mixture looks greasy after kneading

Take small portions to your hand and Press down and roll to balls.

Store besan ladoo in a air tight jar.
