Rice Flour Snack


Dry roast ¼ cup or 4 tbsp urad dal

Keep stirring and roast evenly until lightly golden.

Cool and add to a blender

Powder to a fine flour.

Add 1 cup rice flour, 4 tbsp urad dal flour ajwain, chilli powder, sesame seeds and salt to taste.

Heat up 1 tbsp oil in a kadai and pour it. Mix everything well.

Pour water little by little and mix the flour

make smooth non sticky dough

Grease the mould, fit the star muruku plate. Stuff the dough inside.

Press the mould to check if the dough releases correctly

Slowly begin to press the mould to release the dough and make a spiral shaped murukku

If you are a beginner, you can also make these murukku on steel spatulas.

Heat oil until hot and place the spatulas in the hot oil and fry on a medium heat

Fry until golden and crisp. Bubbles begin to reduce when fried well.

Drain the murukku

Fry murukku until golden stirring as required.

cool and store murukku in a air tight container for upto 2 weeks
